Marion Barry #6

This is one of the Fastcore/powerviolence/grindcore band around even tho they dont play as off then they have killing tunes and i unique sound for the type of band they are I interview Brando which is the Vox/Drummer of Marion Barry.

I'm with Brando from Marion Barry who is Is Marion Barry and what do you do in the band??

Marion Barry is a band from LA named after a fucked up dude from DC. We play fast music about dumb stuff. George plays Guitar and does vocals. Dustin plays loud noises and lends us his bass talents from time to time. I am the drummer who also does vocals & noises. I do a lot of our artwork & am chief executive of regional ambush text message interviews. Special bonus interview nugget: I'm high.
I remember the 1st time i heard you guys and it was This Comp Kills Fascists Volume 2 and i was like fuck these guys fucken sick and i've  like ur sound ever since..so tell me how did you guys get on that???
Thanks. We weren't sure if anyone liked those songs. We came into that with real lo-fi stuff compared to almost everyone else. We're glad people liked them. It was really nice of those labels to take a chance & let us be on that comp because nobody had heard of us before. You know, not many people know about this, but underground music is all about suckin' dick & who's dick you suck. Just like Hollywood & Congress! Balls were fondled. Offshore accounts were filled with riches. And shady deals were brokered using mass quantities of narcotics. After a few flights to the Relapse compound in North Korea & playing live at a couple of those Eyes Wide Shut-esque parties we all finally came to a reasonable agreement. Little did we know that even after that we still had to compete w/ Iron Lung in a trivia death match for a final slot on the comp. Luckily those guys know dick about pottery & we won.
Crazy but coo so whats in store for Marion barry???
X-Men powers. Satanic rituals. Hologram versions of us. Sled races. Space pudding & quasi-dimensional teleportation/ass-play. Also some splits with a few great bands & a show here and there.

ELASTICDEATH #5

Well I know It's been a while since i done a blog I been really busy with my band and work and other stuff... Anyways I have a treat for all you im really excited of this interview i did of one of my favorite power violence band from Brazil. When you think of Brazil you think of Infect,RDP,I shot Cyrus and Discarga. but i don't think alot of people heard of Elasticdeath no not Scholastic deth with M.ward. It's a mix sound like Spazz meets Hoy Pinoy from the states. well here is the interview i did of the guys from Brazil.

Who is in ElasticDeath??? What is the story behind Elasticdeth and how did it get started????? How did you guys think of the name Elasticdeath???
ELASTICDEATH is me, Caio, bass/vocals, Robson, guitars/vocals and Rafael, drums.
The band started in 2008, I used to play with Robson in a skatepunk band called Your Last Choice, one day he asked me to join his new project, a powerviolence band, inspired by Infest, Spazz, Crossed Out and stuff. In the firt line-up the drummer was Nicolas, but he left the band in 2010. The band was themed by japanese pop culture, like tv shows, anime, things we saw growing up, kung fu movies, but we still wanted to talk about situations that bothered us, like enviromental and social problems.
The name started as a joke, we used to play with band names, ELASTICDEATH came out of joking with Scholastic Deth, that we love.
How did you guys get the inspiring of doing Japaness charters with the name???                                You guys did a split with Wheelchair x4 its an awesum record and vinyl how was the vinyl in the works????
We grew up watching japanese tv shows and animes, and we still like this shows, so it was kinda natural to write about it, for fun.
Axel from TVG Records, from Germany, invited us to record the split, and it was great, because it`s not easy here in Brazil to have something on vinyl. We recorded the songs here, sent them to Axel and in a time it waas in our hands, it was awesome.
