The Band from the Bay Area that is Heavy Hitting Drum and Bass.. no I'm not talking bout Godstomper or DosxAmigo. I'm talking about the all mighty World Peace. Come out a couple years ago hitting some hits. I interview the drummer Derek. He tell me the history of the band. Here is the interview with World Peace enjoy. State your name and what bands are you in??? I’m Derek I play drums in world peace and guitar in fentanyl and have a new “solo project” called north America two that I’ll be releasing a tape for soon
How did you get into punk??? My dad showed me the Ramones and the clash when i was like 11-12 and I’ve been into fast angry shit since
how did World Peace start and What was the line up when you started???
World peace started in 2017, the original lineup was me on guitar, Christian on bass and our homie jack on drums. When jack left the band I hopped on drums and we reworked our sound a bit to fit the new bass/drum set up. We were a two piece for about a year-ish and then added our other homie peter on second bass and that’s our current lineup.
what are some of the influences that the band has??? I try to take more influence from grind and noisecore sorta shit rather than hardcore, which I think has helped us dial in our sound a bit.
what's the best show you guys played???
The best show we’ve ever played was at core house in Portland on the tour with cell rot. Hong Kong fuck you, family vacation, and putocracy also played. Definitely one of my favorite lineups ever.
We knew we wanted a name that would turn heads and didn’t sound like a pv or grind band and so we were all pretty stoked when we landed on world peace
how did you get the name World Peace????

how did you get the collaboration with limb bin??? its was really sick album.
He actually just messaged us one day telling us he really liked our stuff and so I asked if he’d be down to work together on something and he said yes. Super good dude!
We’ll be releasing a 20 track LP early 2021, I think in January if everything goes to plan. We’ll make a more formal announcement about it in the coming months.
Any shout out you want to give????
Shouts out zest bay and wcpv as a whole. Stop eating animals.
Thanks Derek for your time Derek
