What's up everyone hope you guys are good. This week I interview a band that is one of the brutal Powerviolence bands out there that I got to be a fan of theirs. You guys should check out 2 of the members were in known bands Like Acxdc and AxRxM.. So here is the interview enjoy.

 -State your name and what band you play for? 

My name is Jose and I play guitar and I’m the vocalist for HWIH

-How you doing?? 

I’m doing okay, my mental health has been a bit of a rollercoaster over that last year or so, but getting better and feeling okay. Thank you for asking and checking in.

-How did you get into punk?? 

I first got into punk when I was about 13 with bands like the Ramones, Misfits, Greenday, and Sum-41. I grew up on oldies and was very much into hip hop and punk had this vibe or attitude about it that I identified with. I then stumbled on the punkcore records showcase comp at a hot topic and was blown away. I went to high school with Omar from Soul Search and we were good friends hanging out all the time, it was he and our other friend Evan that turned me onto bands like conflict, disrupt, and infest. We eventually all got into hardcore and that just kind of unfolded as we got older and went to shows, started bands, etc.

-How did Hurt them where hurts get started?

HWIH rose from the ashes of a previous band my brother and I had called IMPACT! We wanted to play something faster and more intense. We were very close friends with Sergio from AxRxM and he started playing shows with us, which ended up with the three of us practicing and writing songs together and officially became a band.

-what was the line up? 

Myself on guitar and vocals, my brother Bobby on drums, and Sergio G. on bass guitar.

-What was your guys influences?

Our primary influences were bands like Infest, Mind Eraser, Iron Lung, and Think I Care.

-What was the reason why you guys change the name to Shoes Of Cement? 

Well, we were young at the time. I was about 19 years old, my brother was about 16, and we were full of teenage angst, which if you’ve been to any of our shows resulted in rather violent incidents. That caused us to develop a not so favorable reputation and it was difficult to get shows, so we took that as a sign that we need to re-evaluate our image and change our name as a kind of reset, if you will.

-What was the best show you guys played? 

The two that stand out to me is the show we played with ¡Liberate! and covered ‘We Kill Christians’ with Sergio A. which lead to the ACxDC revival, but also the epic and chaotic show at Justin’s house with Hordes. If you know, you know.

-Anything in the works or any other projects? 

At the moment my brother and I plan on writing new HWIH material with the hopes of recording and releasing records and possibly playing shows again. Other than that my brother makes custom graphic designs and stickers (@adhesivevisions), I create content for parenting and autism awareness/parenting, as well as merch/clothing to represent autism acceptance, embracing neurodiversity, mental health awareness, and such  (@aunwrd & aunwrd.com)

-Any shoutout you want to give? 

Yes, I want to shout out Sergio A. for being our brother and big supporter to us, our brother Fidel at BETAMAX/BETAMAX RECORDS, all of our AVSK/Nasty Boys homies, Martin and Eddie for filling in when we needed it, and most definitely our families and significant others for putting up with our shit on a regular basis. This week I interview the Homies from Oxnard no that a pv or Grind band but I Goregrind band, to be honest dont dig a lot of goregrind bands. but this one cuz of the breakdowns and blast beats and punk beats the homies Oscar does on drums.  here is the interview enjoy!

State your name and what band are in? 

Oscar Arellano, and I am the drummer in Colpolscopy

How You been? 

Pretty good, very busy and just navigating through this pandemic along with everyone else, wishing everyone good health and safety. 

Matt: Living the dream

How did you get into metal? 

I started listening to rock music or alternative rock if you will such as Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, and Nirvana. From there, it just went heavier and heavier. I listened to a lot of Nu Metal like, Korn, Deftones, Slipknot, Chimaira which are still some of my favorite bands. After that is when I started getting into death metal such as Six Feet Under and Cannibal Corpse. A band that really stands out is Dying Fetus, I believe Dying Fetus was huge for me not only in enjoying their music but mimicking their sound as far as technicality and musicianship. They inspired me big time. From there I just got into a million different bands from Thrash to Black Metal, and from Glam to Gore Grind. My palate for metal music has really opened up and I have learned to appreciate all genres of metal. 

Matt: My mom played me an Ozzy tape when i was a little kid on our way to pick up my dad from work. I used to only listen to classical but after I heard Ozzy all bets where off.

What age did you start playing bass?

Matt: I got my first bass when I was 12 or 13, I had a couple of friends in middle school who played guitar and they would bring them to school and talk about playing all the time, they got me into it.

What age did you start playing the drums? 

Well I started air drumming like at 13 years of age haha. And I say that cuz I couldn’t afford a drum set so I would air drum the shit out of all my favorite music. But at age 15, I finally convinced my brother to get me a drum set using his credit card and I would supposedly give him payments every month, which I had no form of income haha (I still owe you bro). So, I would say that I started playing drums at 15.  

How did you guys start Colpolscopy? 

In 2009 Colpolscopy was started by Chuy and Ryan, our guitarist and vocalist. It wasn’t necessarily with intentions to start a band, but they were just writing music. I joined shortly after then the rest of the guys did as well. We were jamming at a storage unit and working on the songs that Ryan and Chuy had already wrote, which some are on our demo “Sickness of Vile Impregnation”. We really liked what were doing and the music that was coming from our practices, so it was only natural that we became a band. 

Matt: You'd have to ask the other guys, I joined up in 2016 after seeing the guys play a show. They hadn't had a bassist for a while and i just asked "Y'all need a bassist?" had a few practices with them after that and they asked me to join up.

What was the line up? 

That line up was Chuy Cano, Edward Ortiz, Markie Cortez, Ryan Gregory, and me Oscar Arellano. 

What are the influences for Colpolscopy? 

Were big on Porn Grind, Gore Grind, Death Metal, and a bunch of other genres including genres outside of metal. We’re also huge on groove, we love our music to be groovy as fuck. Our bassist Matt has also brought really cool technical riffs with his bass to the band.  But when we write music, we never really enter the writing process knowing what is going to come out. Our music can circumnavigate through several different metal genres, and I believe that is one of our strong suits that can make our music unique. Were also very inspired by horror film, and sci fi. Our singer Ryan is a great lyricist and has based many of our songs and lyrics on particular film such as The Thing, Extro, Alien, and The Brain That Wouldn’t Die.  

Matt: I know the rest of the guys are really into like porno-gore and grind. I was always more into technical death metal, OSDM and like NWOBHM stuff. I have a big soft spot for doom metal as well.

How did you guys get on the Haggus show? 

Our friend Ferna has a bar and throws shows. I believe we were on that bill but didn’t make it. 

How did you guys get the name for your band? 

It started as a song. Ryan took the actual word colposcopy and tweaked the spelling to be spelled as Colpolscopy and therefore changed the pronunciation of the word. He wrote that song, and we really dug the name and how it sounded. We proposed it to be the name of the band but still had some doubt. We decided to flip a nickel to see if we would make that our band name. It landed in favor of the name, and that’s how we became Colpolscopy.  

Matt: I'll quote Oscar on this one

Due to the pandemic it has been very hard for us to be active, we do have riffs and ideas recorded on our phones but have yet to put them to action. Hopefully we can get back to action when this pandemic deems it to be safe for everyone including our families. We did however release our second full length album “Gore-Fi Sci Fi” in 2019 which were extremely proud of so please go check that out. I personally do have a side project as Thursday Island’s Psychic Charity which is experimental music. 

Matt: I really hope we can get back to writing soon. we all have ideas and riffs floating around but nothing concrete, hopefully once this pandemic is over we can start seriously writing new material.

Crudos/ Charles Bronson #53

Yo what's up this week I interview the og in the scene and one of my favorite drummer Ebro from the Legendary band Crudos and Charles Bronson and talk bout the history of the bands. Enjoy!!!

 state your name and whats bands did you play in??? 

My name is Ebro Virumbrales and I played drums in Los Crudos, Charles Bronson, MK-Ultra, Ruination, and some others and sang in Punch In The Face, Pillage, Pitfall, Dog Flashback, and Affront.

 How you doing?

 I’m doing pretty good....just working a lot and trying not to catch Covid.

How did you get into punk???

 I got into punk through skateboarding and listening to heavy metal in the late 1980s. Reading about bands in Thrasher and seeing the shirts that bands like Metallica and Slayer were wearing got me interested in checking out those bands.

 When did you start playing  Drums??? 

 I started playing drums when I was 15/16.....some friends and I wanted to start a band and I said I would play drums so it started from there, haha. Being self-taught, broke, and clueless on where to start, I had to borrow equipment from people and it took me a long time to get things figured out (and I'm still learning).

 Were you the 1st drummer for Charles Bronson????

 I was the only drummer for Charles Bronson.....there were two shows that I wasn't able to play though and people filled in for me: one where Max Ward filled in and one where our guitarist Mike filled in.

 How was the 1st show with Charles Bronson??? 

It was fun.....it was at a student lounge on the Northern Illinois University campus that used to have shows called Diversions. We opened for a band I used to be in and we were really sloppy and probably annoyed the crowd, haha.

 How did you guys get the name for Charles Bronson??? (That goes with were you the 1st drummer for Charles Bronson) 

 When we were trying to come up with a name, a guy we knew said something like, "you need to call it something tough....like Charles Bronson" and we thought that was funny, so it stuck.

 what was one of the best shows you can recall with Charles Bronson??? 

 Our last show at the Fireside Bowl with Assuck, Fiesta Grande 4 at Gilman St with Spazz, Capitalist Casualties, and MITB, the A-Zone in Chicago with MITB, the Fireside Bowl show with Spazz, Suppression, and Asshole Parade, and Albany, NY at a VFW with Spazz, DOF, and Monster X were all memorable for one reason or another (but probably not because of us, haha).

The question I want to add is how did you end up in Jerry Springer??? 

 My girlfriend at the time's ex-boyfriend wanted to tell her he was still in love with her.....she and I used to watch that show a lot around that time and when she got the call from the producers we thought it would be funny to be on it. It was ridiculous of course and I probably wouldn't do something like that again, but it makes a good story, haha.

So after Charles Bronson  did you play for  los crudos??? How did you join the band ??  

 I joined Los Crudos while I was still in Charles Bronson. I was talking to Martin at one of our shows and he said that their drummer was probably going to leave, so I told him I would play drums for them if they wanted and they were down with it.

How long were you in Crudos?? 

 I joined at the end of 1995 and haven't left yet, haha.

 What are some of the influences you had then from now????

A lot of stuff along punk, metal, funk, etc....I don't try to play like any of them but they all show me what is possible. 

What are a good show you had with Crudos??

There were a lot because we did a lot of touring, but I'd have to say some of my favorite ones were actually more recent when we got to play a few shows with Gauze in Tokyo in 2016.

 After los crudos you did mk ultra and punch in face etc???

 I actually joined MK-Ultra while I was in Charles Bronson and Los Crudos.....there were a few shows where I had to play with all 3 bands and there were some that I had to play with at least 2 of them, haha. After all 3 bands broke up, I played drums in Ruination from 2000 to 2001 and yelled for Punch In The Face from 2001 to 2008 and Pillage from 2013 to 2016. Now I yell in Dog Flashback and Affront.

 How long  were you in Charles Bronson???? Was it true that half of the members were edge???? 

 I was in Charles Bronson from when we started in 1994 until we broke up in 1997. Our singer Mark, our bassist Jon, our first guitarist James, and I were all straight edge but none of our other guitarists were.

What's up everyone this week I'm interview the mighty Shitstormtrooper hailing from Texas and xJovinox also one member is from Texas and the other member is in South America both bands are really bad ass check them out, here is the interview enjoy.

State your name and what bands do you play for???

Hey Tone! My name is Aldo and I play drums for Shitstormtrooper and drums/vocals for xJovinox, as well as a couple of other projects that have not seen the light of day yet.

How are you guys doing?

 Luckily, both bands are doing well, thank you for asking. There are people in both bands whose jobs have been totally or partially affected by the virus but fortunately have been able to stay afloat in one way or another. 

How did you get into punk?? 

 I grew up with grunge and nu metal. I unconsciously was trying to always find a more and more aggressive style to listen to. After listening to grunge, it wasn't hard too get into early punk. That lead to discovering hardcore punk, which lead to discovering pv/grind/fastcore.

How is the scene in Texas?

 The scene in Texas pre-COVID was great and is the main reason why I moved SST to Houston from Baton Rouge. In the last 2-3 years it had been revolving around The White Swan, a dive bar open since 1939. Awesome touring bands came thru all the time. After COVID, there is the occasional show still but the scene is not back yet.

How did Shitstormtrooper start as a band? 

SST started in March 2016 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. 9 out of 10 times, South Louisiana is more interested in doom and sludge than in blast beats. Only my brother Boris was down to start something with me. We had been in a 4-piece pv band together in 2009-2010 called High Fructose Corn Syrup, with him on bass and me on drums. In 2015 I broke my right foot skateboarding (never healed properly) and while recovering I decided I could not wait any longer to play pv again. I started writing songs, showed them to Boris and we started practicing in my garage as soon as I could play a bass drum pedal. Later we moved to an apartment behind my parents' house. We had our friend Lee on bass for a few months but went our separate ways due to ideological differences. Finally, we were able to convince our singer Jen after low key begging her for 8 months to sing for us. Had our first show in February 2017. Boris unfortunately could not follow us when we moved to Houston in 2018.

What are some of the influences?

Powerviolence, grind, fastcore. Bands like Cave State, Deterioration, Mellow Harsher, xBrainiax, SFN, Shitbrains, L'Amico di Martucci, Six Brew Bantha, Tension, Chainsaw Squid, blah blah blah

What is the best show or Tour you been on?? 

Best tour was definitely the Southwest Violence Tour 2019. The best shows were in the same tour: Zesta Grande Day 2 at Mullet Death Records HQ in San Rafael, CA and the Tulsa, OK show, with Blurt, Without Empathy and Holy Void. Blurt and Without Empathy were also two of the best bands we saw during that tour. SLC, Santa Barbara, Phoenix, all great shows too.

Then you started xJovinox???

Yeah xJovinox' s conceptualization started in late 2019/early 2020.  A friend from elementary school, Alejandro, and I reconnected via social media in 2019 after not seeing/talking to each other for 18 yrs. We found out we both liked and played various forms of punk. So we decided to start a hardcore punk band that was themed after our elementary school experience.

How did you start xJovinox???

 I had 3 hardcore punk songs written that had never been recorded. Alejandro visited Houston in February 2020. While he was here, I wrote lyrics and we laid down drums and vocals. He recorded bass and guitar once he returned home to our mutual hometown of Guayaquil, Ecuador. He also did mixing, mastering, photography and design.

What are the influences for xJovinox?

The influences for xJovinox are fast hardcore punk from any era, with powerviolence and old-school hardcore flavors. 80's-00's Italian hardcore had a strong influence on me for sure. 

How did you get the name Shitstormtrooper and xJovinox?

For Shitstormtrooper, we chose the name among many others because of a few reasons. We are big Star Wars fans, Shitstorm fans and Jim Lahey fans (from Trailer Park Boys). Lahey calls Ricky and Julian "Shitstormtrooper" in one of the earlier seasons. For xJovinox, we named the band after our elementary school's janitor Jovino.

Any releases coming out for any bands???

 Shitstormtrooper is slowly but surely writing our first full length. Hoping to record and release it before the end of 2021. There will also be a South American release of our discography this year. On the other hand, xJovinox is currently not writing.

 State your name and what band do you play in?

I’m just a shithead and I have a band called “Sean Connery Cucks You”

How you doing?

How Did you get into punk?
Hands down,I can honestly say , after Avril Lavigne was unfurled into the masses, I bought a tie, and started fucking on the floor, and listening to “Sk8er Boi” on repeat. For the record , by fucking on the floor, I mean masturbating with my polar fleece Hunch Back of Norte Dame blanket akin to a “Fifi”. Google “prison fifi urban dictionary” if that sounds foreign to you.

How did you start playing drums?
Literally banging my hands on a desk with pencils instead of doing my 8th grade homework to songs on the radio. 8 years later, I was the king of pretending I watched a shitty local band’s set and asking to borrow their entire drums and cymbals, until I would finally but myself a drumset.

How did you get in the band Tittyfuckers?
That vocalist is my childhood friend and neighbor. We were 20, looked good naked, and liked grindcore, and it seemed like a good idea during a drive to a show in an Astrovan full of filipino lesbians.


How did you guys get the name?
I was at a restaurant called “Hong Kong Noodle 69” getting some food, and regretfully said, “Your wonton soup is cold and bland”. I then requested “anything else”. So they sent another dish, and it was a plate with a note on it that said “Hong Kong only Fuck You”. I decided it was a message from God, but, if God was that guy’s talking dog in “Summer of Sam”. Or was that movie called “I am Sam” ? Whatever. I’ve only actually watched one of those movies.

If you meant to ask for Tittyfucker, I was just obsessed with that word. One day, we were simply driving to a show in an Astro van full of fellow Filipino lesbians, and we (me and my neighbor) were talking about how we should start a grindviolence band and call it Tittyfucker, and how the first song could be called “Helen Keller Hardcore” because, it all just sounded like an utterly bullshit great idea. We wrote music with the use of onomatopoeias on the rest of that drive, and played our first show that night . The set was 1 minute long. It was what we call “cringe af” these days but there was definitely 1 fan made that day. I think I just gave you an unnecessarily long answer to that.

I know from videos I would see you guys strip down... How did that idea happen?


Well, like I said, we looked good naked. We’d be at parties , just walking around naked to troll people like we didn’t even notice we were naked. That’s no exaggeration. There was also more than one of us doing that, and one of those people were capable of playing guitar, so, I suggested she join our band. She was hesitant, because she wasn’t used to playing something “heavy”. I told her she only needed “one finger” to play in dropped tuning, and taught her how to palm mute. From there we just Tittyfucked the Westcoast scene after that. That sounds like bullshit, but I assure you, Maury detected that THAT was a goddamn fact.

How long was Tittyfucker a band?

Once we were a somewhat functional trio? Not even a year . If we count the day in van full of Filipino Lesbians - maybe 1 year and 300 days to make a specifically rough estimate.


After you were in Hong Kong Fuck You?

Short answer is, “p much”.

What was the beginning lineup?

For HKFY, just me and one bassist, who died from a rare lung infection caused from an addiction to Jenkem and I guess literally “sucking at life.”


How did HKFY start?

Some dipshit said “wanna play fast?” and I said, “arre, pendejo, Just don’t die from sucking at life, and a rare lung infection induced by Jenkem”, and the rest lead up to what it has evolved into today.

What are the influences for both bands?
Lil Jon, the Porn Hub drum beat, and the sound of Rambo screaming whisky spraying an AK47.

Any future projects or releases?
Yes... things I cannot reveal quite yet! Very excited.

Azzy, if you’re reading this , I don’t recommend being a “sub-genre” musician. Do your rudiments, and tell your mom I said, “ligma”.

What's up everyone this week I interview a cool band from North Carolina talk bout the history of the band and his other project check it out.

State your name and what band do you play for?

I’m CJ Coronado, I play in Leachate and Locust Reign. Both are “grindcore” bands based out of North Carolina. I also run Shirley Road Records.

 

How you doing CJ?

I’m really good, thanks for asking! I’m always busy with band / label work, and so far 2021 has blown away my expectations for all of my different projects. I’ve also been leveling up my data science skill set for a career change I’m trying to make happen ASAP.

 

How did you get into punk???

My earliest memories of punk were DEFINITELY from playing the Tony Hawk games as a kid. I easily spent hundreds of hours on each game and have those soundtracks burned into my brain forever. The Bouncing Souls, Less Than Jake, Suicidal Tendencies, Goldfinger, and the rest of the bands were a major catalyst for me seeking more music (not to mention the hip hop and metal on those games too).

 

I also had two older cousins, Charlie and Corey, that played in bands, who would always show me new-to-me bands, take me to local shows, and unintentionally helped to cultivate my taste today. For punk specifically, that was Charlie. His band Monkeyknifefight is so much fun and I’ve seen them dozens of times over the last 10+ years.

 

How did Leachate start??

Leachate started as a one man band that our drummer Ethan was doing. He put out some demos and some splits that I thought were cool, plus he was showing me a lot of mincecore bands like Haggus and Archagathus and exposing me to that world of music.

 

What was the line up?? 

Him and I can’t agree on what happened next. He thinks he asked me to join on guitar so we could play shows. I think I told him I’m in Leachate now and that’s how we became a two piece. We added our good friend Jon Ward (Photoclub, Azucares, Base Print Productions) on drums to round it out, leaving Ethan on bass. I think all three of us were doing vocals starting out.

 

Whats the line up now?

Currently it’s me on guitar, Ethan on drums, Andrew Nye (Suppressive Fire, Eyn, ex-Arghast) on bass, and all three of us doing vocals.

 

Whats your guys influences?

When Leachate was still mainly Ethan’s baby it was a lot of Archagathus, Despise You, Man is the Bastard, and other bands in that wheelhouse (with a healthy dose of 90s Memphis hip hop love thrown in there). We don’t really play that strict of a grindcore/powerviolence sound anymore, so we’re pulling in influences from everywhere. Andrew loves black metal so that really stands out in his vocal delivery and bass style. My favorite band of all time is My Chemical Romance, so I try to focus more on similar song structures and overall song delivery. Maybe someone will notice one day which of their riffs I’m “influenced by”.

 

Oh we also love Priapus and BrainXToilet (North Carolina Dad Grind) so they definitely trickle into our sound.

 

Whats the coolest show you guys played?

For me I have to go with February 21st, 2020: Greasy Grindfest II at The Maywood in Raleigh, NC. That was a fest Ethan and I built where we had 12 bands from NC and VA playing from like 3pm to midnight. I did two sets and Ethan played four. Our homies in BrainXToilet headlined which RULED, all the bands got paid, and it was the day after my birthday so I was H E L L A L I T.

 

Do you guys have any releasing soon?

Right now Leachate has a big split / comp with four other North Carolina bands in the works that should be coming out in the next few months. That one will have a mix of grindcore, black metal, dark hardcore, and some covers I’ve been wanting to do forever. It’s the most time I’ve put into songwriting and has us infusing more death metal into our sound than we have, so it’s been fun to branch out from our old material.

 

My other band Locust Reign (with Joseph from Sleep Torture) is finishing our first album set for a late Spring-ish release, so be on the lookout for that too.

Jungle Juice/Terminal Nation #49

What's up everyone still trying to adjust to my work schedule. been weird but I think release the interviews on Wednesday should work. Anything this week I interview Stan from Terminal Nation he talks little bout his old band Jungle Juice and talks bout Terminal Nation hope you guys like it enjoy .

State your name and what band are in?

Stan: Yo it’s Stan and I play in the band Terminal Nation.

How you doing Stan??

Stan:  I’m good, dude. Trying to stay sane until this COVID stuff starts to dissipate.

How did you get into punk?

Stan: I think like a lot of people, I was introduced to punk in the early 2000s through Epitaph and Fat style skate pop punk bands and kind of spinning off from there. Bands like Pennywise, Rancid, NOFX were kind of gateway bands to me and once I found those I would dig deeper online and in the liner notes of their CDs to try to find other bands and it kind of spiraled from there. When I discovered Grind, crust, and power violence, I really gravitated towards that shit because it embodied everything I loved about punk but was sonically way more brutal and punishing.

How Jungle Juice start as a band?

Stan: I think Jungle Juice started out of boredom and necessity in our area. There were no hardcore bands here in Little Rock and when hardcore tours would come through there were no bands to play with them. So we started the band to have something to do and to fill in that local band gap.

What was the line up?

When we started off it was just a 3 peice with me and my buddy at the time Jake on drums and Ted on guitar.

How long was JJ as a band?

We were entirely active through out, but we existed for about 8 years. I think from 2008 to 2016.

How did you guys get the split with Fedup?

I think it came about after playing some shows with them on a West Coast tour. I really loved those dudes and it was great hanging out with them. We talked about doing a split on that tour and made it happen the next year.

How did JJ end as a band?

We really weren’t doing too much for a year or two and decided to go out with a bog bang and have a final show in our hometown of Little Rock. It was a pretty spectacular end to thing.

How did you get the name for JJ?

Funny story. We came up with the name of the band when we attended some shitty frat party and the dudes there were trying to beef with us and our friends. They were all drinkin a mixed alcoholic drink out of a big cooler that they called Jungle Juice, so right before we left that whack ass party a couple of us took a piss in their jungle juice cooler and when we laughed on the drive home we were like “let’s start a band called Jungle Juice”.


Then you started Terminal Nation?

Yeah I started Terminal Nation in 2014 with our bass player Chase T.

What was the line up how when you guys started?

The OG Terminal Nation lineup was me, Chase T, Tommy on guitar, Chase D on Drums and Ted from Jungle Juice played guitar for a little bit.

Ice Watch is a really sick song and tell people the struggles that some of the Raza dealing with ICE.

Yeah man, that shit sucks. There a large Latino population here in Arkansas and it’s just upsetting to see people living in fear while striving to obtain a better quality of life. The whole process with the current administration’s xenophobic way is just so unnecessarily cruel and heinous. Things don’t have to be this way.

Whats the Influences for both bands?

I think with both bands I wanted something that was hardcore but more rooted in the grittiness of punk or crust type of shit. TN has evolved more to lean a lot more metallic but I still think we embody a lot of the crust and PV influences that we had early on. Just heavier now.

Any awesome shows you guys played?

Yeah, we have played a lot of cool shows. I really love the last LA show we played at Perez Tires. Everyone was so fuckin cool and welcoming at that show. If not for COVID, we planned to play LA again this year.

Any releases coming out?

We dropped our first LP back in August, we’re already writing for the second. I’m not sure how I feel about the idea of two LPs worth of material dropping without the opportunity to play the songs live but we may do like a split or an EP or something to kind of split those releases up yet still give people new music this year. That all remains to be seen.
